Paul Kinghorn
When I edit the text on a scorecard entry it appears Seeq recalculates. Why? I've had to wait up to 10 minutes for Seeq to return so I could then edit the next line of text. If the data isn't changing does Seeq need to recalculate? Thanks. Seeq Team Mark Derbecker Posted October 5, 2018 Seeq Team Share Posted October 5, 2018 Hi Paul, I'll ping one of our developers to take a look at why this might be happening.
Seeq Team Jason Rust Posted October 5, 2018 Seeq Team Share Posted October 5, 2018 Hi Paul, currently all of the tools, including scorecard, run the calculation after updating. This is because we assume that most of the time other data besides just the name has changed and we want to ensure the data is always correct. Your use-case of just changing the name when the calculation is expensive is a pain point we are aware of. We could implement a heuristic to try and determine what has changed when submitting the form, but long-term we have a definite emphasis on scalability so that we can cut down on the time that it takes to compute the value.
