Muhammad Atiyab Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 I have been trying to install the seeq server application. even after getting all the whitelistings and digital signings done, still the server is not starting and getting this error [Cassandra ] 14:07:04.609 [main] ERROR o.a.c.service.CassandraDaemon - Exception encountered during startup it is getting stuck on Columnar database migration. have tried to reinstall it multiple times but the issue persists. Can anyone guide what the concern is and how to resolve it? Expecting an early response. BR
Alfred Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Hi Muhammad, when you started the installation, were you trying to perform an upgrade to an existing installation or was that the first time that you were installing Seeq server? I would like to share this knowledge base article on how to install Seeq. Installing+and+Upgrading+Seeq
Muhammad Atiyab Posted May 4, 2021 Author Posted May 4, 2021 well it is a fresh installation not an upgrade. the installation was successful, all the necessary changes were done to the configuration files.
Muhammad Atiyab Posted May 4, 2021 Author Posted May 4, 2021 what does this error specifies to as i am not being able to understand what the problem is, if i can understand any issue with security end or whatever it can be addressed, but this error is too vague to understand for me. the error is copied from the unified log
Muhammad Atiyab Posted May 4, 2021 Author Posted May 4, 2021 Nop it is not starting, it is prompting this error and not going forward from the columnar database migration step.
Alfred Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Ok, now I understand. That error is occurring because of retrying the installation multiple times. When you start the installation, the Seeq installer assumes you are trying to upgrade an old version, what you need to do is to completely remove Seeq first, and delete any "seeq" folders that maybe left in your hard disk. uninstall from Control panel> uninstall a program. Then download a new copy of Seeq server from HERE and then run the installer again as administrator.
Muhammad Atiyab Posted May 4, 2021 Author Posted May 4, 2021 Yes tried that too, after uninstalling it completely and installing a fresh copy. Still the problem persisted.
Alfred Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Are you able to get onto a zoom call to troubleshoot this issue?
Muhammad Atiyab Posted May 4, 2021 Author Posted May 4, 2021 Yes, i have been working with the representative team, but thought to post here in case anyone has some different answer or has seen this before.
Alfred Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Alfred is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting. Topic: Alfred's Zoom Meeting Time: May 4, 2021 16:00 Nairobi Join Zoom Meeting https://seeq.zoom.us/j/96135958553 Meeting ID: 961 3595 8553
Muhammad Atiyab Posted May 4, 2021 Author Posted May 4, 2021 Can we connect tomorrow morning to have a discussion on it, i will not be able to join at 4.
Alfred Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Tomorrow morning is fine, I think when uninstalling, you may have missed to delete the Seeq data folder. After you have uninstalled using the normal process, the data folder is usually located at "C:\ProgramData\Seeq". you will need to delete this folder and then re-try the installation. What time are you available to morrow morning and what is your timezone?
Muhammad Atiyab Posted May 4, 2021 Author Posted May 4, 2021 Well infact, i cleaned all the folders from all drives which were seeq associated. My timezone is UTC +3 will be available after 10.30 UTC+3
Alfred Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 This is unusual, will setup meeting for tomorrow at 11am. I suspect then some cleanup in the registry maybe due.
Alfred Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 If you don't mind, please raise a support ticket from HERE so that this issue can be tracked by the Seeq team. Thanks.
